This video explains how to do polynomial long division and demonstrates the process by solving the following problem. You can try to solve the problem before watching the video and click "Reveal Answer" to see if you are correct.

Problem: Do polynomial long division to simplify the following rational function: \[\frac{x^3+2x^2-4x+5}{x-1},\quad x\neq 1\]

\(\dfrac{x^3+2x^2-4x+5}{x-1}=x^2+3x-1+\dfrac{4}{x-1}\)
